Message from the Commissioner

Welcome to our website. For those of you who have visited before, a number of improvements have been made since its launch about a year ago. As well as updating our existing registers and other information, we have added several additional sources of information and guidance.

For example a copy of the 2005 Annual Report can be found on the website. This includes summarised financial information about the industry as well as commentary and review of the year. In addition we have added several more guidance notes and draft regulations which should provide much needed support to our industry and members of the public. We also have on board a new Legal Officer and Administrative Officer. Last but not least we have included a copy of the office’s audited financial report for the year ended 31.12.2005.

More changes are in the pipeline which will hopefully provide much of the information needed by users of all categories. And of course we welcome any comments on how to improve our existing material.

This website is the primary source of information from our office to the public. However should you have any difficulty obtaining information on the website please contact us and we would be happy to provide the information in hardcopy, although in some cases a small fee may be payable.

Thank you for visiting us and thank you for all the feedback we have received. Most of it has been very encouraging. I also would like to thank those of you who have contacted my office with information. This is always gratefully received and I acknowledge this as an important tool in the effective regulation of our industry. I apologise for any problems you may have encountered with our email system but these should now have been resolved and I encourage you to keep sending your comments, criticisms and information to us.
